The mining sector continues to face logistical constraints, leading to an annual contraction

Mining production will likely remain subdued in the quarter after contracting in two out three months of the third quarter., weighed by diamonds which contributed -2.7 percentage points to the overall number and manganese ore which was down -7.9%.

Mining production dipped by 2.5% year-on-year in August after a revised contraction of 4.4% annually in July.
