While Starlink has resolved to cut off its services to those using it for extended periods in South Africa at the end of this month, service providers haven't given up hope.
Representatives from two companies that import and manage Starlink subscriptions on behalf of a host of South African customers said that options might be available to continue accessing the satellite internet service.
This comes after Starlink sent a message to users stating that it would cut off services to users operating in areas where it had not been granted a licence. The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) also issued a notice in a Government Gazette late last year, officially stating that using the services in the country was illegal.
