The most urgent task facing the business rescue practitioners (BRPs) overseeing the SA Post Office (SAPO) is to uncover the true state of its murky finances, experts say.

Only then will South African get to see whether the heavily indebted state-owned entity can still be saved.

SAPO, which is insolvent and owes billions of rands to creditors, was placed into business rescue earlier in the week.
