While South African political parties generally condemned the killing of civilians in the conflict between Israel and Palestine, there is a clear dividing line among parties on who is to blame for the deadly violence that erupted on Saturday in the troubled Middle Eastern region.
The ANC and EFF ascribed the attacks by Hamas as a response to Israel's continued suppression of Palestinians, while the DA, FF Plus, and ACDP described the attacks as "unprovoked," while the IFP said Hamas has "triggered" the current violence.
