A North West father won a case against Police Minister Bheki Cele after he was accused of aiding in his son's escape, and detained for 10 days.
Kenneth Rankale Tshesebe claimed R400 000 from Cele for pain, suffering, discomfort and embarrassment, loss of amenities of life, and deprivation of freedom.
Tshesebe was arrested on 27 July 2016 and charged with aiding an escape, and harbouring an escaped person. The docket recorded that he was also charged with obstructing the police in executing their duties.
