The SA Medical Association (SAMA) had harsh words for politicians who seek medical treatment "in countries like Thailand" while they left behind a crumbling healthcare system in the country.
On Thursday, SAMA began its three-day conference in Sandton, Johannesburg with SAMA chairperson Dr Mvuyisi Mzukwa making a not-so veiled reference to North West Premier Bushy Maape's decision to seek medical treatment in Thailand in January.
The conference, attended by different health stakeholders, is themed on strengthening health systems and taking lessons from the pandemic to adapt to the evolving healthcare landscape.
