National Treasury has revealed there are no plans to fund the implementation of the Basic Education Law Amendment (BELA) Bill.
Should the bill pass into law, each of the country's nine provinces will have to find an additional R2 billion per annum to fund its implementation.
On Thursday, Treasury briefed the Western Cape Standing Committee on Education on the controversial bill, which the DA-led government has vehemently opposed.
