Britney Spears has lashed out at her estranged mom, Lynne Spears, blaming her for being behind her latest headline-making hotel ordeal.
Witnesses called 911 due to concern the 42-year-old pop star had injured herself and was having a mental breakdown after an alleged heated altercation with her rumoured new boyfriend, Paul Richard Soliz, at Los Angeles' infamous Chateau Marmont.
The singer, whose 13-year conservatorship under her father, Jamie Spears, ended in November 2021, was snapped being escorted out of the hotel clad only in her underwear and clutching a pillow and blanket alongside Paul.
Britney, who has a long history of mental health issues, has since called the reports about a fight “fake news”, and has accused her mom of orchestrating it.
“I know my mom was involved," she wrote on Instagram. "I haven’t talked to her in 6 months and she called right after it happened before the news being out !!! I was set up just like she did way back when !!! I wish I had grandparents !!! I can’t stand her !!! I honestly don’t care I will say it."
Fans were quick to express their concern for Brit, who has been the focus of recent news articles. These reports claim she is "completely dysfunctional" and is on the verge of bankruptcy due to spending millions on numerous trips abroad.
Britney has since explained in a series of social media posts that she suffered a sprained ankle while “trying to do a leap in the living room”.
“I fell and embarrassed myself. That's it. Paramedics came to my door illegally, of course caused this huge scene, which was unnecessary and all I needed was ice. But yeah, it is actually pretty bad, but s**t happens.”
The Toxic singer did not leave with the ambulance. Instead her security team took her home.
Britney and her mother have a difficult relationship and Britney has openly criticised Lynne (68) for how she treated her during her 13-year conservatorship.

In her memoir, The Woman in Me, she slammed Lynne for “making money” off her during her “darkest times” such as her 2007 public breakdown which Lynne wrote about in her 2008 book, Through the Storm.
She has also accused her mother of being the one who came up with the idea for her conservatorship, which was overseen by her father.
In 2021 she blasted Lynne, who divorced Jamie in 2002, on Instagram, writing, “My dad is not smart enough to ever think of a conservatorship. You know exactly what you did. I will never get those years back.”
In recent years they’ve begun to make amends but according to friends it remains a complicated situation.
