The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has accused the Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) board of acting in bad faith when it served the mine formerly owned by the Guptas, Optimum Coal Terminal (OCT), with a termination notice to have its export entitlement cancelled.
The union held a picket outside the mine on Wednesday, with protesters chanting several slogans, saying the RBCT was taking away their dignity and accusing several members of the board, including Seriti mine CEO Mike Teke and RBCT CEO Alan Waller.
