The Wynberg Magistrates' Court has withdrawn a case of fraud against troubled self-proclaimed millionaire Sandile Shezi after he paid back R200 000 he allegedly defrauded an investor.
Shezi did not arrive in court on Thursday as he was reported to be sick.
However, complainant Angela Mabena, who was in court told City Press that the businessman paid her the money he took from her in tranches of two R50 000 payments, R40 000 and the last transfer of R60 000 on Wednesday afternoon.
Mabena said:
In April, City Press reported that Shezi was nabbed in a movie-style manner at the same court after he had just made an appearance on another matter of defrauding a Johannesburg businessman of close to half a million rand.
In 2018, Mabena paid R200 000 to Shezi, hoping to invest in his crypto trading company for great returns.
Mabena's case withdrawal comes just weeks after another case against Shezi by a Johannesburg businessman Alan Ledwaba was also dropped after he also received his money back from the Forex trader.
