Honor SA has released its latest smartphone, the Honor X9b 5G, with an ‘ultra-bounce anti-drop display’.

At its very bold launch event in Johannesburg, Honor encouraged guests to put the X9b through its paces by attempting to crack the display through various controlled activities like swinging a weighted ball onto the screen, dropping it from a height, and shooting at it with a paintball gun – twice.

The winner walked away with a R25 000 cash prize when the display eventually cracked after hours of countless tries from attendees.

Honor hopes to set a new benchmark for mid-range phones with the X9b through key features like display quality, photography capabilities and an enhanced battery combined with hardware performance.
