Cape Town -African Bank on Monday announced the appointment of Peter Temple as a non-executive director of African Bank Limited and its holding company, African Bank Holdings Limited.
African Bank Ltd was launched on April 4 2016 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of African Bank Holdings Limited (ABHL), an unlisted registered bank controlling company under the Banks Act, Act 94 of 1990.
The shares in ABHL are privately held by the South African Reserve Bank, the Government Employees Pension Fund, Absa, Nedbank, FirstRand Bank, Investec Bank, The Standard Bank of South Africa and Capitec Bank.
Temple (44) holds a degree in actuarial science from the University of Cape Town, is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and is the immediate past president of the Actuarial Society of South Africa.
The bank said he brings a wealth of business acumen and professional experience to the board of directors and its board risk governance structures.
