WATCH: A glimpse into machine learning and why firms should embrace it

Cape Town – People shouldn't be afraid of machine learning, they should rather embrace it as it will open up job opportunities that didn't exist before.

This is the view of entrepreneur and co-founder of  DataProphet Daniel Schwartzkopff, 28. DataProphet is a machine-learning company that helps companies improve productivity in order to save money.

Schwartzkopff said rules-based professions such as accounting, doctors and lawyers will be replaced by machine learning in the near future, but new jobs which did not exist five years ago, such as data scientist or machine learning engineer will get prominence.

"This is a new field that people should start getting accustomed with."
