“No trades went through today... most people are already on holiday‚” a local trader said.
With most traders away‚ the quiet conditions in the market are likely to prevail until the new year.
At 12:00‚ the benchmark R186 was unchanged at 7.210%‚ the R157 was at 5.290% and the R207 at 5.290%.
The rand was last bid at R8.5704/$ from R8.5700/$ previously.
