SEE: A finger-licking good smartphone
Johannesburg - International chicken fast-food franchise KFC has launched a limited edition smartphone with a fingerprint scanner.
The phone, decked out in KFC's signature red, was developed in partnership with Huawei and will only be sold in China. Essentially, it is a Huawei Enjoy 7 Plus with a Snapdragon processor.
Its unique fingerprint scanner on the back sits right above the laser engraved image of the Colonel’s head, but KFC did not reveal whether it would be able to scan fatty fingers as well.
Just 5000 of the phones will be released into the country as part of the franchise’s 30 year anniversary celebrating its first store in China, ensuring that it'll become a collector's item.
Its style is pure KFC. Not only does the smartphone match the franchise's colour, but is emblazoned with the iconic logo of Colonel Saunders at the rear of the device. The device mimics the iPhone 7's red colour version.
