Johannesburg - The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are currently on pre-order from numerous retailers, starting at R13 499 with the most expensive model carrying a price tag of R18 499.
Pre-orders of the iPhone 8 were available from Friday October 13, said iStore.
The smartphones can be purchased from iStore, Incredible Connection and Technomobi.
Sales of the new iPhone 8 are expected to begin on Friday October 20, with availability of the new iPhone X, which celebrates the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, not yet announced for South Africa.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus promise to have the highest video capability in a smartphone, according to Apple.
The iPhone X - pronounced "iPhone 10" - features Super Retina Display on its almost borderless screen.
How to pre-order from the iStore
Pre-ordering online offers customers the benefit of reserving their purchase without having to queue, with purchases delivered directly their door.
Pre-orders of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus cash purchases can completed online by visiting www.myistore.co.za.
Customers will also have the option of purchasing the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in-store using their iStore Card from October 20.
The iStore Card gives customers the option to pay for their purchase over 24 months by means of monthly instalments, once again outside a cellular contract.
