As Gupta associates and a government official were cuffed and taken to court on Wednesday, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has promised there will be more to come as it works to bring perpetrators of state capture to book.
Gupta stalwart Ronica Ragavan and two other associates of the controversial family were arrested on Wednesday and appeared in front of the Randburg magistrate's court on charges including fraud and money laundering in relation to the rehabilitation funds of the Optimum and Koornfontein coal mines.
"The country can expect more of these priority state capture cases to be enrolled soon," said Sindisiwe Seboka, spokesperson for the NPA’s Investigating Directorate (ID).
