Logistics-focused property group Equites is installing solar technology on all new builds along with water storage capacity as it looks to help prospective multinational and local tenants mitigate the effects of SA’s infrastructure and energy woes.

Over and above that, the JSE-listed group is also investigating the viability of adding micro-sewerage systems to allow for recycling water for landscaping and toilets.  

"We continue to strive to bring innovation to our facilities to ensure our tenants are given solutions to the infrastructure challenges that are confronting the real estate industry in South Africa," CEO Andrea Taverna-Turisan told News24 on Tuesday.
