The business rescue practitioner of Ster-Kinekor, Stefan Smyth, has received permission to extend the deadline of the publication of a rescue plan to 30 November 2021.
In an update to affected persons, Smyth noted that an extension of the publication of the plan was necessary due to the advanced stage of discussions with an interested party, who requires time to complete a due diligence.
The outlook for the company remains stable and attendance numbers continue to improve month-to-month, according to a statement issued on Friday. This is helped by the continued vaccination rollout in the country.
Ster-Kinekor Theatres CEO Motheo Matsau says the release this week of the new James Bond blockbuster No Time to Die to movie theatres and not into the streaming space demonstrates the film industry's commitment to cinema. New awaited content included Marvel's Venom: Let There be Carnage on 15 October, Dune on 22 October, The Eternals on 5 November and Spider-Man: No way Home on 17 December.
