Filipino port giant's takeover at key Durban terminal now expected mid-year

Port giant and container terminal operating company, the International Container Terminal Services Incorporated (ICTSI), says it now expects to begin operating at the Durban Port between May and June this year.  

After being selected as the preferred partner to upgrade and develop the port's Pier 2 in July last year, Transnet announced this month that due diligence had been completed to ensure that the company can complete the transaction.

The pier is the largest terminal on the continent, with the port responsible for nearly half of the country's port traffic.
