I can understand the Prince and Princess of Wales' request for privacy during this time; however, the lack of transparency over the weeks that have followed, and truly terrible PR work from their team, seems unforgivable from the institution that prides itself on constantly feeding the media, writes Bashiera Parker.
On 17 January, Kensington Palace unassumingly released a statement confirming Kate Middleton had undergone "planned abdominal surgery". Never did they imagine, however, months on during her extensive recovery period – the statement said "she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter" – people the world over would be speculating about the royal's whereabouts.
Many are questioning the statement, with others suspicious of the unfortunate events that followed this impending royal crisis. Others have started pointing fingers at William as they wonder what might have happened to Kate or Catherine, who inherited the seemingly haunting and historically ominous title that appears to have come with Princess of Wales.
