"Hello, Joe. Do I have your attention now?"

The tables have turned for our favourite stalker Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), as he becomes the target of a serial killer in his new town of London.

On Monday, Netflix released the trailer for Part 1 of the highly anticipated fourth season of You.

In the upcoming season, Joe has rebranded as Professor Jonathan Moore; in an earlier clip, the character said: "I've gone through a bit of refinement upon crossing the pond. And living in London has allowed me to bury the past, if you will. Gone are the days of unrequited love and longing. No, this time around, I am focusing on academia and instructions."

In the trailer, Joe comes face to face with Marienne (Tati Gabrielle), who calls him a murderer; while Joe is living his new life, he struggles to deal with his 'instincts', and he falls in with what he calls the 'most insane damaged people on earth'. Elsewhere, Joe and his new crew are being targeted by a serial killer known as the "eat the rich killer".

"I ran away from all of this, but one of you is watching me. One of you is hiding in plain sight. So what are you?" asks Joe.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Sera Gamble said the show is turning into a whodunnit in the upcoming season.

"It doesn't matter how many whodunnits I read or see, they still are so compelling."

She added: "It's just a really fun genre. And maybe the first very famous serial killer is from London with Jack the Ripper, so we very quickly started to talk about classic whodunnit structures — Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie."

Part 1 releases on 9 February, with Part 2 following on 9 March.
