As the rain came down early this morning, rather than snuggle up and think what a relief it is after the oppressive heat of the past few weeks, for the first time, I experienced a sense of anxiety.
The kind of anxiety farmers must feel at unseasonable rains or extreme climactic conditions. It's a helpless kind of feeling that strips you of any kind of security because if the crops fail, then no amount of planning will fix it. You can't smart-market yourself out of that one.
