The six victims from Kwazakele who died in the head on collision on August 13 on the N2 Storms River have been identified.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, it is alleged that on Sunday, August 13 at about 17:40, two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions on the N2 near Storms River when they were involved in a head on collision.
She said that the Mini Cooper was travelling towards the Western Cape and the Toyota Rav4 towards Eastern Cape.
“On impact the Mini Cooper overturned and caught alight. All the occupants in the vehicle died on impact. The man and woman in the Rav4 who are tourists from Dubai sustained minor injuries,” said Naidu.
She said that the victims who were all from Kwazakele included one man who was driving the vehicle, three women and two young boys.
The deceased have been identified as follows, the driver, Sandile Patrick Sister (38), Noyakhe Regina Heleni (71), Thembela Heleni (51), Zikhona Heleni (27), Kungane Heleni (3) and Azingce Heleni (1).
Naidu said that the police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
