The African Union's (AU) inclusion in the G20, the world's premier economic bloc, places the continent firmly on the world stage.
This is according to an analyst who said the AU's seat at the G20 table would see a shift in focus back to the continent to advance its interests.
Last week, at its summit held in India, the G20 admitted the AU, giving the 55-member continental body the same status as the European Union.
