Despite record losses of R2 billion and facing an impending liquidation, the government wants the SA Post Office (SAPO) to become the country’s logistics hub and a major e-commerce player in the rest of the continent.
SAPO’s finances have been in a shambles and it faces two provisional liquidation orders related to rental payments.
On Thursday, Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies Philly Mapulane told the National Council of Provinces the entity was facing massive financial and legal challenges.
