"No one wants to cross-examine a mother who has lost a child; it's terrible." With this statement, advocate Barry Roux SC began questioning a mother whose son died allegedly because of complications from surgery performed by Peter Beale.
"I'll be as sympathetic as I can. Remind me if I'm not. We want to put all the evidence to the court," Roux said.
Beale is on trial at the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg on three counts of murder and two of fraud, which stem from the deaths of children he operated on between 2012 and 2019.
