Teaching and learning at 40 schools in the Eastern Cape have been disrupted as a result of ongoing taxi violence between rival taxi groups from Port St Johns and Lusikisiki.
Three people, all security guards believed to be from the Ncedo Taxi Association in Lusikisiki were killed in the clashes with the Border Taxi Association from Port St Johns on Tuesday in what the police said was a dispute over routes.
Five others were wounded. An 11-year-old boy was also hit by a stray bullet.
