The headlines from abroad were startling: 

“Mid-flight panic as jet’s door panel comes loose”, swiftly followed by, “Boeing 737 loses engine cover during take-off” and “Critical safety bolts missing from aircrafts”. 

Then something happened to bring it all a lot closer to home. A Boeing 737 recently lost a wheel shortly after take-off, forcing the captain to make an emergency landing.
