A little over a year ago, Tracey-Lee Lusty from Cape Town underwent gastric bypass surgery, an experience she describes as being granted a second chance at life. Since then, she has been unstoppable in her pursuits.
Tracey-Lee (32) recently completed the Ironman 70.3 triathlon in a time of 8 hours and 2 minutes, 30 minutes ahead of the race's cut-off time. The gruelling event in Nelson Mandela Bay in Gqeberha included a 1,9km swim, 90km bike ride and 21,1km run.
“When I crossed the line, I was filled with so many emotions. I was overjoyed, happy but more than anything I felt immensely proud of myself because I had set a goal and had worked hard to achieve it,” she tells YOU.
