Astoria to delist from Namibian stock exchange

Investment company Astoria [JSE:ARA] plans to terminate its secondary listing on the Namibian stock exchange, as there are no shares held by any shareholders on the stock exchange.

The company on Monday notified its shareholders in an announcement on the stock exchange news service. The company's geographic location is split between the US, Europe, the UK, Asia, SA and Mauritius. It derives most of its revenue from the US. Its market capitalisation is valued at R28.4bn.

Astoria, headquartered in Mauritius, will keep its primary listings on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius and the Alternative Exchange of the JSE.

"As there are currently no Astoria shares held by any shareholder on the NSX, the secondary listing of all the Astoria shares on the NSX will be suspended and terminated with effect from 31 January 2020 or at such times and such dates as will be approved by the NSX," the group said.

Astoria has held a secondary listing on the NSX since February 10, 2016.

The Astoria share price, which opened at R2.31, hardly moved on the announcement.
