US a step closer in getting Huawei CFO to stand trial

The Canadian government has cleared the way for extradition proceedings against Huawei chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou.

She was arrested in Canada in December at the request of the US.

The US wants Wanzhou to stand trial on charges including fraud linked to the alleged violation of sanctions on Iran.
