The public has until Friday November 30 at 16:00, to make written submissions on Eskom's tariff application to the energy regulator for the next three financial years.
Eskom applies to Nersa to approve the revenue it intends to collect. Essentially the regulator determines the tariffs Eskom can charge consumers.
For the 2019/20 year Eskom wants R219bn, for 2020/21 the power utility wants R252bn and in 2021/22 Eskom wants R291bn. This is a 15% tariff increase per year for the next three years.
Nersa previously approved a 4.1% increase, which comes into effect in April 2019.
Those who wish to make oral presentations to the regulator have until January 4, 2019 to submit their requests.
The hearings will be held between January 14, 2019 and February 1, 2019 across the country.
