Johannesburg - Black Friday has become one of the biggest days on South Africa’s shopping calendar.
Retailers around the country are gearing up for tens of thousands of shoppers who will start queuing at crack of dawn on Friday in anticipation of heavily discounted sales.
For those hoping to dodge the bustle of this pre-Christmas rush, Fin24 has scoured the web in search of South Africa’s best online sales at over 50 stores.
Here is Fin24's comprehensive list of online deals for this Black Friday:
GENERAL RETAIL
1. Takealot - Takealot has been preparing for Black Friday with a ‘Blue Dot Sale’ by requesting that customers complete an online form before 08:00 on Thursday, 23 November to be among the first to receive an email notification of Takealot's biggest sale of the year. Takealot’s Blue Dot Sale begins from 00:01 - or a minutes after midnight - on Friday 24 November.
2. One Day Only - Although this website celebrates Black Friday almost every day, onedayonly.co.za is offering customers more deals this Black Friday.
3. BidorBuy - Online shopping website BidorBuy is already offering users up to 85% off products for the Black Friday sale, which it says is lasting all week long.
4. PriceCheck - PriceCheck, a product and financial services platform, is hosting its countdown to Black Friday with a sign-up page that promises exclusive offers.
5. Catch of the Day – Catch of the Day is offering users special offers from watches to home accessories on Black Friday.
FASHION
6. Sportscene – Clothing retailer Sportscene is offering customers up to 50% off items for Black Friday.
7. Spree - Online clothing store Spree is expected to offer users discounts on items of clothing with the Black Friday sale starting at midnight on Friday morning.
8. Zando – Online clothing retailer Zando is currently offering up to 80% off items on their website as part of their Black Friday promotion.
9. Totalsports - Sports gear and technology retailer Totalsports will be hosting its Black Friday sale on 24 November and has requested users bookmark its dedicated online page.
10. Zasttra – The online clothing and accessory retailer is offering 80% off everything in its online store until Cyber Monday.
11. MRP - Clothing retailer, Mr Price is offering customers a range of items on sale for Black Friday.
12. Markham – A range of items from the men’s fashion retailer will be available on the site for its Black Friday sale.
13. Fabiani – The men’s clothing retailer has created a Black Friday section on its site.
14. Edgars - Clothing retailer Edgars is expected to begin its Black Friday on 24 November.
15. Superbalist – The online clothing retailer has been offering items at special sales prices since the beginning of the week, with new sales every day. Its biggest fashion sale of the year will be on Friday.
16. The Watch Shop – The Watch Shop online retailer will have a Black Friday sale at the weekend with 12% off on some of its most expensive watches.
17. Studio88 - Clothing retailer Studio88 has posted sale items for Black Friday in a dedicated page.
18. Adidas - Sport brand Adidas is requesting customers sign-up to its online store to receive 15% off selected products.
19. Planet54 - The online fashion retailer has been stretching its Black Friday sales over the whole month of November.
20. Pop Up Runner - The online pop-up sport store is open for only 72 hours once a year offering last season’s products and discontinued merch at affordable prices.
21. Vivolicious - The online sports store is currently retailing products for its Black Friday sale.
22. Khaliques - The men’s formalwear retailer will offer up to 50% off international brands on Friday.
23. iBags - The online bag and luggage retailer is offering customers discounts of up to 30% on international brands.
TECH & GADGETS
24. Samsung - South Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung has launched a countdown to its annual South African Black Friday sale. The company is expected to retail TVs, smartphones and other home appliances with limited stock available.
25. Dion - Dion Wired will be offering Black Friday deals from 00:01 in store and online, with up to 70% off.
26. Incredible Connection - The electronics retailer has begun offering deals daily, and will make more available for Black Friday.
27. HiFi Corp – Electronics and appliance retailer HiFi Corp says it is offering up to 80% off on big brands with a catalogue on its website.
28. MWeb – MWeb is offering Xbox games for Black Friday from under R160.
29. PlayStation - PlayStation is offering console bundles, software and more from its local PlayStation website for Black Friday.
30. Vodacom - Vodacom is offering discounted prices on Nokia, Sony, LG and Huawei phones, and more, for Black Friday and Cyber Monday from 24 November until 27 November 2017.
31. DStv – DStv will be retailing the Explora R899 for the decoder, with the fully-installed package with a DStv WiFi Connector for R1 499. The DStv Wi-Fi Connector will be available for R99. products will be available from various online retailers such as Takealot, Game and Pick n Pay.
32. Cellucity – The mobile store is expected to have an online salem but as yet there are no details around what will be on sale for Black Friday.
33. CPlan Audio – Online audio retailer CPlan Audio is offering up to 80% off audio equipment on its website for its Black Friday sale.
34. The Gadget Shop – The electronics retailer is offering up to 50% off gadgets from major manufacturers.
35. Outdoorphoto - Outdoorphoto will offer specials on cameras, lenses and other photography gear for its Black Friday sale this week.
36. Raru - Online electronics retailer Raru will run its warehouse clearance sale this week, in conjunction with Black Friday deals, and has promised up to 80% off products.
37. The Kid Zone - The online kids toy store is running its Black Friday sales this week.
38. Stax - Audio products retailer Stax will run its Black Friday sale on 27 November, with numerous products expected to be on sale.
39. HBP Hoverboards - The online hoverboard retailer will run its Black Friday sale from 23 to 25 November, with up to 80% off products.
40. Telkom - Mobile and fixed line operator Telkom is expected to to offer up to 30% off data.
RETAIL STORES
41. Pick n Pay - With a recently upgraded website, retailer Pick n Pay has a dedicated new online tab for Black Friday. Sales found in-store are expected to also be avialable online, with delivery and collection from stores also available.
42. Makro – Makro is offering customers a sale on electronics and other devices with deals on TVs, consoles and other gadgets, with up to 60% off some products.
43. Clicks - In preparation for the sale rush, Clicks has already been hosting pre-Black Friday “Countdown to Black Friday” deals. Some of Clicks' deals will only be available from the online store on Friday, with up to 50% off electronics.
44. CNA – CNA is offering online customers a range of stationery, tech gadgets and other products on sale for Black Friday.
SPORTING & OUTDOOR
45. Action Gear – Tech and outdoor equipment retailer Action Gear is offering customers up to 57% off products for Black Friday, with a further 1 day voucher for 5% off products not on special with the promo code: BF2516 to be entered upon checkout.
46. Chain Reaction Cycles - The online cycling retailer is offering customers up to 50% off cycling goods.
47. Rugged SA - Rugged SA’s Black Friday sale will run from 24 to 27 November, with up to 70% off products.
48. Evo Bikes - The online cycling retailer is offering customers discounts on cycling goods.
HOME & TRAVEL
49. CyberCellar – Online booze retailer CyberCellar is having a new sale each day this week and will have a Black Friday promotion with prices revealed on the day.
50. Travelstart – Travelstart is set to slash prices off flights and accommodation with its Black Flyday sale from midnight.
51. MRP Home – Mr Price Home is having an extended sale around Black Friday called the Black Fiveday Promo from November 20 to 27.
52. NetFlorist – Need to send flowers to someone? There’s no better day than Black Friday with specials from NetFlorist.
53. Home Choice – The home shopping retailer will host its Black Friday sale with 85% off certain products.
54. Boardmans - Boardmans has already begun its sale of Black Friday items on an exclusive page.
55. STA Travel - The travel agency is offering customers up to 50% off international accommodation.
56. ePetStore - The online pet merchandise retailer is offering customers up to 30% off pet food and toys for Black Friday.
57. Faithful to Nature - Online health store Faithful to Nature will run a five day sale this week untill Friday with up to 60% off some health products and clothing.
58. Wellness Warehouse - The online wellness store is running its #bigbangsale with up to 60% off new deals every day this week.
