Trade, Industry and Competition Minister Ibrahim Patel says South Africa faces triple challenges as it looks to address the trade deficit it has within Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (Brics) bloc.

The country has not been able to fully maximise the trade opportunities within the bloc and has mainly exported raw commodities instead of manufactured products.
