This marked the first Easter Sunday service for members of the St Engenas ZCC since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Their last mass gathering was held in 2019.

Due to the ongoing pandemic resulting in numbers reducing significantly, the Easter service adhered to Covid-19 guidelines, with officials seen wearing masks throughout the event. The only tragedy that marred the Easter celebrations was when a bus travelling from Botswana plunged off a bridge between Mokopane and Marken, where an eight-year-old girl was reported to have miraculously survived the accident as she jumped out before the bus went down. Forty-five people were killed in the accident that happened on the Waterberg Mountain Range.
