Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo conducted a coaching workshop in Soweto this week in a bid to address what he deemed to be wrong coaching tactics at the grassroots level.
During the workshop at Mampuru Hall in Dube, Soweto, Khumalo, who has held coaching stints at PSL club level and national youth teams, imparted his knowledge to young and unlicensed coaches.
The emphasis was on the latest tactical and technical approach to the game of football.

Some of the coaches who attended the workshop will be guiding their teams in Khumalo’s tournament, the Gauteng Ultimate Champs, on Sunday, 17 March.
The event at Matador Ground in Dube, Soweto, Khumalo's hometown, will feature soccer and netball competitions.

The Bafana Bafana legend emphasised that this would reduce the late development of young talent in townships, such as Soweto.
Khumalo wishes the hopefuls to follow in the footsteps of other kasi coaches who are doing well in the PSL, like Rulani Mokwena, who is the head coach of Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mokwena, who guided his kasi club, Black Poison FC to multiple kasi tournament titles, also coached Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.
