Prosus, the Amsterdam-listed consumer internet arm of Naspers, said on Monday the sale of its Russian online classifieds business Avito concluded in 2022 and hasn't been affected by the buyer being hit with US sanctions.
Prosus had announced its intention to sell Avito in May 2022 as numerous Western companies looked to unwind their investments in Russia following its invasion of Ukraine. It then announced in October that year it was selling it to 45-year-old Russian businessman Ivan Tavrin's Kismet Capital Group for 151 billion roubles (R44 billion at the time).
