The City of Tshwane has asked the Pretoria High Court to dismiss - with costs - Altron's application for the court to review and set aside the municipality's awarding of a contract to Brilliant Telecommunications. It argues Altron used the wrong subsidiary to seek relief, which Altron has denied.
Altron TMT, a division of JSE-listed Altron, has no standing in the case, as it did not submit any tender to be considered for appointment to manage the city's communications with the residents, says Johann Mettler, the city manager of Tshwane, in a responding affidavit deposed to the court last week.
Altron Systems Integration was the subsidiary that had submitted a bid for the contract.
