TymeBank, which is backed by billionaire Patrice Motsepe, has reached the 8 million customer market less than five years since its launch in early 2019.
The milestone comes despite ongoing load shedding, which disrupts its digital-centric customer acquisition process, and persistent Home Affairs systems failures, which hobble its ability to securely verify customers’ identities during onboarding.
