Representatives of US tech giant Google told the South African Competition Commission on Tuesday that the revenue it receives from news content does not play a material role for the company.
Over the past week, many South African news publishers have argued that Google has been unfairly profiting by using its dominant position in the news distribution market to dictate the terms of what reaches consumers online.
