Outgoing Nedbank CEO Mike Brown says SA's economic and foreign policies are helping it score own goals that severely harm its economic growth prospects and fiscal situation.

Brown warned that amid massive government overspending, it is currently pursuing foreign policies that are sparking tension with its major foreign lenders.

This will be something "to watch" as the country potentially looks to borrow R300 million per hour.
