Tensions have chilled yet again at South African Airways (SAA), after the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) accused unions at the national carrier of colluding to undermine the business rescue process by rejecting salary deferments that were agreed upon last week.
SAA is in dire straits to the point where it had to file for business rescue last year. Financial challenges continued to pervade the business, with unions saying leadership was to blame for the troubles at the airline, while making employees pay for their past decisions.
