SA's largest egg producer Quantum gets price boost even as bird flu fallout continues

Even as the fallout from the bird flu outbreak continues to be felt across the market, SA's largest egg producer, Quantum Foods, is seeing an improvement in trading and margins.  

The owner of the Nulaid brand said on Friday it had been buoyed by a reduction in feed input costs, as well as fewer hours lost to load shedding in the four months to end January. This lowered operational costs and contributed to margin improvements, though the company did not provide any earnings guidance in its update.
