Mandatory vaccination policies in the workplace may be a contentious issue, but stronger incentives to get the jab are the one thing standing in the way of harsher lockdown restrictions.
This is according to National Economic Development and Labour Council executive director Lisa Seftel, who spoke at Nedlac's 26th annual national summit on Tuesday – where the hot topic for the day was the possibility that government might introduce a Covid-19 vaccine mandate.
Seftel did not mince words when she addressed the summit, saying the council supported restrictions to access to workplaces, events and public gatherings for unvaccinated people, coupled with incentives to encourage vaccination.
