Minerals and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe on Tuesday published a bill to establish the SA National Petroleum Company, which will be done through the consolidation and merger of the oil and gas companies it already owns.
The new entity, also under full government ownership, will also house any stakes that may be acquired by the government in private oil and gas exploration entities in the future.
