Unemployment figures could again hit record levels, with more people being allowed to actively search for jobs due to the easing of lockdown restrictions.
During the second quarter, the economy shed 2.2 million jobs due to the lockdown. The official unemployment rate of 23.3% for the second quarter caused quite an uproar among economists, some of whom called it "misleading" as it appeared to be an improvement from the record 30.1% unemployment rate reported in the first quarter.
