The year 2024 is expected to be dominated by general elections across the world. According to The Economist, over 75 countries representing over 4 billion people will go to the polls sometime in 2024.
The 2024 election cycle comes on the boom of even more fundamental shifts in geopolitics that have materially affected the state of the world. A majority of the countries going to the polls this year will be doing so for the first time since the onset of the pandemic, where the capacity of governments to address major crises was put to the test.
