According to online reports, the youngest son of Porsche founder Ferry Porsche, Wolfgang Porsche, 79, has reportedly filed for divorce from his wife because she has a "dementia-like illness".

The couple has been together for 16 years and married four years ago.

According to the German tabloid Bild, Wolfgang filed for the divorce because "the illness took hold two years ago and has impacted Claudia Porsche’s personality, making living together impossible".

Claudia has reportedly not been able to work for several months and has been living with her daughter for two years and has four carers looking after her.

The Mirror UK reports that the Porsche family's assets have been estimated at €20 billion (more than R392 billion).

Wolfgang has four children, two he shares with director and screenplay writer Susanne Bresser, who he married in 1988. The couple divorced in 2008.
