China might make the most electric vehicles (EVs) and control the global battery market, but America is the truest indication of what people actually want to drive.

In China's huge cities, with their apocalyptic traffic, drivers rarely have authentic engagement with their vehicles. The car culture of a Sunday drive hardly exists, and journeying at speed on highways is not a thing. Chinese driver behaviour is very different from South Africa, which has a car culture and legacy of using personal transport over long distances, much closer to America's.
